Hi there! My name is Deborah Fisher, designer of sewn things, object maker. Welcome to the Fish Museum and Circus. I am the docent and ring master of this crazy mixed up cabinet of curiosities. Mostly you will find here things of a sewing and textile nature, with other odd bits thrown in.
I grew up making dolls and odd things and watching my mother sew quilts. After years as a fine artist I now design dolls, odd things, and quilts.
I am also the director and quilt designer for the Bright Hopes Collaborative Quilt Project, which I co-founded with my mother.
My project, Bo Twal, is an organization designed to bring handmade dolls to children internationally.
I am quite fond of cocoa, daffodils, and cinnamon toast. I live with my nifty husband, two magical daughters, three cats, a bunch of chickens, and a rooster named Smudge on Long Island, NY.
